A step-by-step information to booking tickets on portal

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has launched its online bus booking service to position itself as the country’s first state-owned “One Stop Shop Travel Portal”.

New Delhi | Jagran Business Desk: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has launched its online bus booking service to position itself as the country’s first state-owned “One Stop Shop Travel Portal”.

The portal, which is already active in the online booking of rail and plane tickets, stated in a statement that the move is aimed at providing a more holistic travel experience for its customers. The bus booking service went into operation on January 29th.

“The IRCTC, led by the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, is gradually positioning itself as the country’s government’s first ‘one-stop-shop travel portal,” a statement said of the IRCTC, as quoted in a report by the ANI news agency.

“In a recent move to provide customers with a more holistic travel experience, IRCTC, already active in the online booking of rail and airline tickets, launched its online bus booking services on January 29th for the service of the country were put into operation in 2021, “added the statement.

How to book a ticket in the portal:

Step 1: Visit www.bus.irctc.co.in/bus

Step 2: A tab will appear on the home page asking for your departure date, destination and your current city. Add the above information and click on Search Buses

Step 3: You can adjust the three filters: departure time, arrival time and bus type to find the ideal bus

Step 4: choose a bus and a seat

Step 5: Choose an entry and drop-off point and click “Continue to Book”.

Step 6: Enter the login details

Step 7: make payment. You will receive a booking confirmation on your phone

IRCTC will complete the integration of this service into the mobile app in the first week of March.
