Anthony Bourdain’s Remaining Book Arrives This Spring
Anthony Bourdain was a television presenter, talented writer, and tireless traveler who showed us parts of the world that might otherwise have remained invisible.
Now, almost three years after his untimely death, we are getting another book that looks at the world through its unique lens. And there comes a time when many of us can only travel on behalf of others.
“World Travel: An Irreverent Guide” can be pre-ordered now and will be delivered from April 20th. The 480-page hardcover book is a collaboration between Bourdain and his longtime girlfriend and assistant Laurie Woolever, who also co-authored his cookbook, “Appetit.” The two worked on it together before Bourdain’s death.
According to the publisher, “A lifetime of experience is summed up in a fun, practical, fun and open-minded travel guide that introduces readers to some of their favorite places – in their own words. With important advice on how to get there, which is World Travel provides essential context to help readers better understand the reasons why Bourdain found such an enchanting and unforgettable place. “
Bourdain’s words are complemented by a handful of essays from friends, colleagues and family. You can find a sardonic account of his brother Chris traveling with Bourdain. There’s a guide to Chicago’s best cheap dishes from legendary music producer Steve Albini. And each chapter features illustrations by artist Wesley Allsbrook as well as the cover showing Bourdain eating street food in Vietnam.
