With the British living in their homes again, many dream of taking a summer vacation once the restrictions are lifted.

But is that realistic?
Can I go on vacation this summer?
Vaccination Minister Nadhim Zahawi has warned that it is too early to book summer vacation.
He told Times Radio on Tuesday, “I think it’s way too early. There are currently 37,000 people with Covid in hospital. It is far too early to speculate about the summer at all. “
No end date has been set for the lockdown, which means there is no clear timetable for when international travel will be allowed again.
No. 10 has refused to exclude the possibility of blocking restrictions beyond Easter.

A report in The Telegraph over the weekend suggested that the rules will not be fully relaxed until all over 50s have received their vaccine, which would mean the country could go back to “normal” in the first week of July.
Dr. Richard Dawood, who specializes in travel medicine, told The Telegraph that vaccination records will be “inevitable” for people planning to go abroad later this year.
“Once countries insist on proving Covid immunity to incoming travelers, there is little choice but to rise to the challenge,” he said.
The Spanish Prime Minister said that the country would not welcome international tourists until “the end of summer”.
What are the UK quarantine rules?
The UK has scrapped travel corridors which means anyone arriving from abroad – with the exception of Ireland – must be quarantined for 10 days upon arrival.
People are also required to provide evidence of a negative Covid-19 test taken within three days of departure in order to be admitted into the country.

The ministers are considering enforcing hotel quarantine. An announcement is expected later on Tuesday.
When the system is in place, people arriving in the UK will be taken to certain Covid hotels where they will be asked to stay for 10 days.
You could then leave after testing negative for the virus.
All hotel stays would likely be at the expense of the individual.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “We want to make sure we are protecting our people and protecting this country from re-infection from abroad.
“This idea of looking at hotels is certainly one thing that we are currently actively working on.
“We need a solution that offers us the greatest possible protection against renewed infection from abroad.”
