They also share their New Year’s resolutions with us.

All I want for Christmas is for everyone to be filled with the peace that transcends understanding. So many people are more broken, lonely, more fragmented and in need of more hope than we think. As Covid-19 changes the world and how we act in it, it has destroyed the lives of millions of people. If even for a moment, in a year one species has challenged us, we can all feel peace overflowing … that would make me happy. I will spend the festive time with my family in our new home. I haven’t seen my family in person for over a year. My resolution for the New Year is not to spend too much time with the future or the past, but rather to live every waking moment of my life as presently as possible in all its beautiful mystery.

I just want Covid-19 to end. But a bottle of perfume would be enough too 🙂 I will spend the festive time with the family! Surrounded by delicious food (I’ll eat EVERYTHING. THAT. FOOD). I’ve been very strict with food for the last nine weeks of filming. I pretty much made a living on lettuce, like a rabbit! So yeah … I’ll eat !! Hahaha. I am already dreaming of a bowl of Gorgonzola Gnocchi! My New Year’s resolution is to be patient.

The ideal gift would be that people take special care, are responsible for their lives and the lives of those around them through social distancing. And to eat my mom’s brilliant cuisine without gaining weight LOL! And maybe we’ll have the chance to write and make a fabulous film in 2021. After that last corker of the year, we all deserve a break. 2020 means that for the first time in years I will get to spend Christmas with my mother (who usually works in the UK but Covid brought her to me) and my family! I don’t take this for granted and I feel extraordinarily blessed to share laughter and vegetarian Christmas dinner together. My New Year resolution is to do better in all areas of my life. Most of the time I fail every year, but I try. I have to get some points for trying!

I want world peace and a Playstation 5. I’m going to spend my festive time on the beach with some good people and my family and a braai and a Brandewyn en Coke. My new year resolution is to make more music. Make more moeilikheid. Make more men feel lekker.

The ultimate gift would be to play an arena show! And would love a home with a beach view. I will be hanging out with my family in the northern suburbs of Cape Town and Langebaan during the holiday season. It was a year of reinvention. Covid-19 forced us (musicians) to think outside the box and come up with new ideas. It was also a year of working with other musicians. I love working and learning from other great artists. My resolution is always to quit smoking. I get it right from time to time, but I usually pick up the smoke again later in the year. So maybe this time!

Honest? I just want my family and friends to stay safe and healthy. I know this sounds trite, but honestly it’s the truth. I think this year really taught us that the material things we think we want or need aren’t as important as having happy, healthy children and the cherished time with family and friends. But I would also like to have a new bike. I will spend the festive time with my lovely boys and my family – my nieces and mom and dad. A good old South African Christmas in the garden with lots of delicious food, probably too much champagne and an afternoon thunderstorm shower – because that happens every Christmas. I think New Years resolutions should happen all year round. I am a firm believer in what you want to manifest and if you wait for a day in the year? How do you get what the universe has in mind for you? If you want to start something, like an exercise program, why the hell wait for December 31st? Do it now! Do you want to learn a new language? Do it now! Do you want to write a memoir? NOW! Change hair? NOW! If this year has taught us something, then every moment is precious and lives in the present, this moment, this day, this second is the only way to find joy when it looks like everything around us is changing. I’m doing a vision board earlier in the year so I do that with my boys.

I would love a brand new wardrobe, it would be a dream. I will spend the festive time with the family, wanted nothing but healthy mood and needed this festival. My New Year’s resolution is the same as every year. I have to challenge what my best being in 2020 and improve on it – whether it’s one step closer or five steps … as long as we move, 2021 is fixed. I am ready and I hope you are too.

I would like to get a Native Instruments Machine + for my studio. Please connect? LOL. I will spend Christmas at home with my family. Super excited to just be home, something small, with our favorite food and just great company. It’s different for me to be at home, usually not at this time of the year. So all in all, very excited! Next year is probably the greatest year of my life, full of plans and ambitions. In terms of resolutions, I want to be fit, I’ve never been really fit, I want to give that to myself. Let’s see how it works.

I would love a puppy and a kitten – sigh – if we didn’t travel so much I would have a house full of animals. My daughter keeps asking me for a puppy and I want to surprise her with a furry best friend and the look on her face would be the best Christmas present. Soon. Someday. Maybe in Hawaii. I will be spending Christmas with my mother and daughter and Sharltos (Copley) very large family in Cape Town. Dad, you’re invited too, book your ticket. My New Year’s resolution is to get fitter and study hypnotherapy, be more peaceful, practice, not react to life, but be quieter in every moment and love my daughter even more than I already do have done.

In all honesty, I’d really like to see the government pull up their socks when it comes to our education system. In order to create jobs and give children a fair chance, we need to offer them adequate education. It’s as simple as this: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” I’ll spend Christmas with my husband at the foot of the Sani Pass in Underberg, just the two of us, the mountains, a delicious lunch (probably prawns on the braai and a salad – I’m so over hot Christmas dinners in the middle of summer) and then a wonderful one Nap! I don’t really like New Years resolutions, but if I did choose one it would be to try to always be kind and think before I speak.
