‘COD’ Professional Crimsix Describes the New Porsche Design Acer Book RS Collab
The best collaborations bring brands together for the benefit of consumers. This is certainly the case with Acer’s new Porsche Design partnership, which presents its Acer Book RS in an elegant, automatically inspired cover with carbon details. And just like with a Porsche 911, what’s under the “hood” of the new Porsche Design Acer Book RS is just as important as the styling. With its Intel® Core ™ i5-1135G7 processor, 8 GB of integrated LPDDR4X memory, Intel® Iris® Xe graphics and thriving automobiles, the new Intel Evo-vetted Porsche Design Acer Book RS meets the needs of all types of users, including luxury car enthusiasts , Designers and creatives, casual consumers and even esports professionals.
That list includes Ian Porter, the Call of Duty professional gamer named Crimsix. While Crimsix loves luxury cars, the three-time COD world champion is just as enthusiastic about the technical data of the Acer Book RS as it is about its design. The 2.65 pound Porsche Design Acer Book RS “has all the parts you could want,” he explains. “It’s good and easy. It doesn’t go hand in hand much. It will definitely be my travel laptop when I start participating in these tournaments. “With 37 major Call Of Duty tournament wins, he knows what he’s talking about.
“When I first picked up this laptop, I thought, this feels weird in a really good way,” continues Crimsix. “It feels cool and feels super durable, just like a car.”
Crimsix knows what he’s talking about when it comes to cars. He owned three different Porsche GTs and said he fell in love with luxury cars as a young child.
“It’s funny, I came to Porsche playing Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 when I was seven, six or maybe five years old,” says Crimsix. “They had a couple of cars in there, but the 930 Turbo was my favorite. I loved the way it looked. It was a timeless look like the 911s. ”
This combination of interests explains Crimsix’s attachment to the Porsche Design Acer Book RS. “It’s a perfect collaboration,” he says. “One of the reasons why I’m so interested in Porsche is its longevity. I don’t like fragile things. It’s the same for cars and the same for laptops. You can feel the high quality materials. ”
Of course, if you’ve built your career on perseverance, durable equipment is crucial.
“It’s fun,” says Crimsix. “My gaming career has been about 11 years, but I only started winning in my fifth or sixth year.” He credits this shift to his teammate Xeres, who invited him to read a book called Mind Gym.
“For me it was rocket science,” explains Crimsix. “It was a book about how to be the best you can be in athletic circumstances. For me, it taught me confidence. I read the book and it changed my whole life. ”
COVID-19 has also changed his life, says Crimsix, noting that it is ending personal esports tournaments while also making gambling more popular. “Gaming is the best entertainment you can get in your home, especially when you’re alone,” he explains. “I watch my passion grow, even though it is an unfortunate circumstance.”
Hopefully these unfortunate circumstances won’t last long, so that Crimsix can hit the road again with his teammates from Envy or Empire to introduce the Porsche Design Acer Book RS to the world.
