Cruisers have by no means had it so good – now could be the time to e-book your voyage

The cruise lines will operate through January 2021 with a dynamic array of specials and promotions hailed as the best of all time.

While some mass market players in the cruise world have cut prices – in some cases drastically – others have added value with cabin upgrades, free drinks, free WiFi, and specialty restaurants. Several companies also offer cheap or free flights and hotel stays.

To reassure customers who may be cautious about booking given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, low deposit offers and flexible booking conditions are being offered that allow for cancellation 30 days or less prior to departure.

“I think we’ve never had it better when it comes to deals and deals,” said James Cole, founder of Panache Cruises, a travel agency founded in 2020. “There are some phenomenal ones, especially this year.”

Stefan Shillito, chief executive of the Sovereign Cruise Club, warned that once the lockdown was lifted and the vaccine rollout picked up speed, given the surge in demand, these offers – some of which are unprecedented – would disappear. He also pointed out that many trips were already busy with postponed bookings from customers who were unable to travel in 2020.

“Now is the time to book for anyone looking for value for money,” he urged. “You will get a good deal by the end of March, but if you wait until April it will be too late.”
