GMAT Official Guide 2022 Preview
The GMAT Official Guide 2022, the official resource for your GMAT preparation, will be published on April 27th.
You can use the official GMAT guide to familiarize yourself with the GMAT exam structure – Verbal, Quantitative, and Integrated Thinking sections – and to test yourself with GMAT practice questions.
There are several helpful GMAT prep books out there, but the official guide is the only one that includes real questions from previous GMAT exams and is exclusively offered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the owner and administrator of the GMAT.
What’s new in the GMAT Official Guide 2022? Is it worth buying if you already have version 2021? And is the official GMAT guide enough on its own to ensure you achieve GMAT success?
Here is our exclusive preview of the GMAT Official Guide 2022.

Why should you buy the latest version of the GMAT Official Guide?
“The new edition includes more features than ever to help you assess your skills, expand your knowledge, and track your performance,” said Ana Kyper, senior director of product management at GMAC.
The new online diagnostic assessment, explains Ana, is only available to buyers of the GMAT Official Guide 2022 and will help you understand your strengths and weaknesses before your GMAT preparation.
The latest guide contains over 1,000 practice questions on quantitative and verbal thinking, analytical writing, and integrated thinking. Answer explanations are included so that you can study the reasoning behind the answers to improve your performance.
The questions in each section are structured according to difficulty – easy, medium, and hard – so that you can start easily and work your way up to the difficult questions as you build up your knowledge.
You can also create your own sets of exercises in the online question bank based on basic skills and difficulty levels to keep track of your performance and pace.

How should you use the Official GMAT Guide?
The Official GMAT Guide is the same as the GMAT Official 8 Week Study Guide, which is used to prepare, practice, and assess your performance before taking the exam.
Ana from GMAC also recommends using other GMAT preparation materials in addition to the official GMAT guide:
“We recommend our free official GMAT starter kit and practice exams 1 and 2. The practice exams are included in the starter kit and offer a simulation of the GMAT exam using the same grading algorithm as the actual GMAT exam.
“We also recommend continuing your practice with additional official GMAT practice exams.”
If you want to practice verbal or quantitative questions in particular, GMAC has supplements for each section. There is a separate guide for the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA).
You can even challenge yourself with the official GMAT Advanced Questions, which consists of 300 tough GMAT exam questions.
GMAC started the GMAT online exam in 2020. GMAT and GMAT Online are equivalent tests. Regardless of whether you want to take the GMAT online or in a test center, your test preparation is similar.
All preparation resources, including the official GMAT guide, apply to both exam formats.
