This year, international travel saw a success after the coronavirus pandemic forced vacationers to postpone their plans. Last week, positive news following the success of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine study gave the travel sector a welcome boost. After news of a possible coronavirus vaccine, online travel buying company Expedia changed its booking habits.
The best prices for accommodation are usually found on a Monday.
But vacation hunters should avoid booking on a Thursday.
Thursday is usually the day when other vacation hunters are looking for a weekend trip and the UK travel corridor review is announced, causing a surge in interest.
However, if you want to rent a car, you should book on a Thursday when it is cheapest and Tuesday has the most expensive prices.
This summer, stays grew in popularity as the British took their vacation abroad for something closer to home.
With stays increasing, coastal towns in the UK were inundated with tourists in 2020.
The UK’s fastest growing 2020 destinations were Brighton, Inverness, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, East Anglia, Bournemouth, the Lake District and Cumbria, Bath and the Scottish Isles.
Despite the uncertainty about travel, the British are now trying to book those one-off vacation after a year of travel restrictions.
Expedia saw a surge in new destinations in 2021 that weren’t seen on most Britons’ radars last year.
The Maldives, French Polynesia, Barbados, Mexico, Koh Samui, Mauritius, the Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia and South Africa are trend destinations for 2021.
