In a primary, Kolkata will get boat library. Journey, ticket worth and different particulars
Kolkata: On Republic Day, a children’s library on a boat was launched in Kolkata, a first of its kind.
Children can choose from 500 English and Bengali titles at the Young Readers’ Boat Library, an official said Tuesday.
The idea behind the boat library is that you can read a good collection of books while appreciating the beauty of Kolkata that cruises on the Hooghly, he said.

“The boat library would take people on a three-hour trip,” said the official.
The trip will begin at Millennium Park and the boat will travel all the way to Belur Math pier and return, he said.
There will be three trips every weekday, he added.
The boat also has a free WiFi system.
The library was set up by West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) in collaboration with a city heritage book store, the official said.
A trip by boat would cost £100 for adults and £50 for children.
The library will eventually host activities like storytelling, dramatized readings, poetry sessions, book presentations, music and more, he said.
