New satirical three-act play highlights Trump’s ‘whole disrespect’ for the Structure and Americans
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Dec. 18, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Richard A. Pundt offers contemporary political satire that humorously centers on many of the bizarre events that have taken place in the US over the past three years, new Novel “The Trumpestiad: A Sad American Comedy” (edited by Archway Publishing).
The book evaluates the Trump presidency from a satirical point of view and is intended to show “a sad but humorous view of the utter disregard Donald Trump has shown for the pillars of truth”. In “The Trumpestiad” the pillars of truth (ethics, integrity, honesty, loyalty, courtesy, awe, honor and justice) are presented as pure and elegant beings that Trump sent to hell. Due to accidental tweets from Trump, the Greek god Apollo and the personification of Dearth accompany Uncle Sam in search of the Pillars of Truth from Hell. Ultimately, Trump has to face a jury made up of people whose rights he destroyed during his four-year tenure.
“The central theme of the book is the unfortunate loss of truth during the four years of Trump’s presidency,” says Pundt. “After completing this three-act play, readers are expected to have a lasting memory, an idea of how perverse the Trump presidency was.”
