The 2021 Travel Retail Awards chosen by consumers will once again be presented in cooperation with the leading Swiss research agency m1nd-set.

Every single product that takes part in the awards is submitted and rated by a group of more than 5,000 traveling buyers, drawn from the unique international database of m1nd-set.

The products are also checked by a team of international travel bloggers and video bloggers with a wide range of experience.

The blogger / vlogger panel has the added benefit of being able to touch, feel, and experience each product for yourself prior to judging.

The results generated by the database of m1nd-set account for 70% of the total score for each product, while the points given by the bloggers and vloggers account for 30%.

Products must either already be available in travel retail or should be introduced in the industry shortly. Products that were previously included in the rewards can be re-entered.

The “Best Sustainable Airport, Airline and Cruise Retail” award extends the “Green” category to all companies that are active in the entire travel retail sector (airports, airlines or cruise lines). Entry for the “Best Sustainable Airport, Airline and Cruise Retail” award is free. This award applies only to airports, airlines, and cruise lines and their respective retailers or F&B partners.

Another new feature of the Travel Retail Awards in 2021 is the “Best Sustainable Supplier” award. This is listed under the product prices.

Peter Mohn, CEO of m1nd-set, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with TRBusiness for the fourth year in a row. The feedback from all companies since we first participated in the awards in 2018 has been extremely satisfactory.

“Despite the Covid pandemic, travelers are still actively looking for innovative products when shopping at airports and are sure to be drawn to award-winning brands,” continued Mohn.

“Our research shows that consumers are 22% more likely to buy a product labeled ‘Finalist – Voted by Shoppers’ and 31% more likely to buy a product labeled ‘Winner – Voted by Shoppers’. ”

Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook, co-owners and directors of TRBusiness, believe the industry needs to be more proactive than ever to bring award-winning products and services to customers who have not traveled in time.

Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook, co-owners and directors of TRBusiness, added, “The industry needs to be more proactive than ever to introduce travelers to its award-winning products and services.

“A significant percentage of travelers will not have traveled for a long time in the coming weeks and months.

“They’ll be all the more sensitive to brands that have award-winning labels, especially if they’re chosen by their peers – the traveling consumer as well as the consumer-chosen Travel Retail Awards.

“We encourage all retailers to ensure that customers are aware of all of the consumer-chosen finalists and winners of the awards. We look forward to a large number of new participants for the 2021 edition. “

All participants in the global Travel Retail Awards 2021 will be automatically registered for the year 2022 Travel Retail Awards: Asia Pacific.
