Vistara to begin direct Delhi-Frankfurt flights from 18 Feb, bookings open now

The full-service airline Vistara announced on Thursday that it will start direct flights between Delhi and Frankfurt from February 18, 2021.

The flights will operate twice a week via B787-9 aircraft, the airline said in a statement.

Round-trip fares start at £53,499 for business, £82,599 for Premium Economy, £149,899 for businesses, it added.

Bookings for these flights are now possible and customers can book either through Visatara’s website, Vistara’s apps, or through online travel agents (OTAs) and travel agents.

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, India resumed flights to and from Germany from mid-2020 as part of the bilateral bubble agreement.

In the meantime, Vistara said on Friday that passengers could now search and book tickets directly on their flights using Google.

The airline said in a statement that passengers are not redirected to another website when booking tickets using the integrated “Book with Google” function.

“We are confident that this new ‘Book with Google’ feature will provide an even less stressful experience and more convenience for our customers,” said Vinod Kannan, Vistara’s chief commercial officer.

The airline said this new feature was made possible through a technology partnership with Amadeus.

Scheduled international flights have been suspended in India since March 23rd due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Since May, special international passenger flights have been carried out in India as part of the “Vande Bharat Mission” and since July as part of bilateral bubble agreements between India and other countries.
